Keeping The Light of Jesus Shining

September 17, 2018

Darkness engulfs our land as it tries to swallow the Light of Jesus and steal our voices and freedoms. It reveals itself through negative voices that are only interested in harming us. These voices work to silence those of us who speak truth.

This darkness opposes everything that is right and true. It's purpose? To seek and destroy.

Make no mistake, our enemies lurk, prowling about as a roaring lion, seeking whom they may devour (1 Peter 5:8 NASB). They distort the truth and try to deceive even the elect. They are wolves in sheep’s clothing, pretending to be the answer to all of our problems when in fact they care for no one but themselves as they fight to gain power and control over our lives by any means possible.

Social media and various outlets strive everyday to hijack our thoughts, our emotions, our mental stability, and even our peace. And sadly, they are successful. They try to knock us off our "Solid Rock" that sustains us. They want the light of Jesus to go away.

We are on this journey together as we try to navigate the road that leads to everlasting life. It's important to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and to put on the "full armor of God." (Ephesians 6:11 NASB) Those of us who are "in Christ" (who believe and have accepted Jesus as their personal Savior) share a common bond that links us--Jesus.

It is my hope to encourage others to not lose heart or give up no matter how hard the road becomes. Remember Job? He lost it all, but he knew his only hope was in God. Let us encourage one another "all the more as you [we] see the day drawing near [to the coming of our Lord]" (Hebrews 10:25 NASB).

Let the light of Jesus shine in our dark world where ever it may lead. May we help spread His truths to a hungry world.

In my latest book, I talk about "wolves in sheep's clothing" and offer encouragement for hurting hearts. Life isn't easy, but, ". . . all things are possible with God" (Matthew 10:27 NASB), and He can give you the strength to endure. He won't give us more than we can bear although it may seem like it when we're going through troubling times.

The verse that inspired me to write Hurting Hearts Need a Light is Nehemiah 4:11, “Our enemies said, they will not know or see until we come among them, kill them, and put a stop to their work” (NASB). Well, this, indeed, ruffled my feathers. Nehemiah’s enemies tried to prevent them from rebuilding a wall around Jerusalem. This passage, written long ago, demonstrates how our enemies work even today to stop the work of our Lord, and they are relentless in doing just that.
